LO2.2 upload Rushes/Unedited Merit

https://youtu.be/nL1MRc0-oLA Scene 1

This piece of unedited footage from scene 1 includes so me generic horror conventions such as tone and lighting, by using chiaroscuro lighting which emphasizes shadow and light. Only using natural diegetic candle light to partly light the characters faces, a common tool when creating mystery and to draw the viewer's focus and attention.

Another common horror convention is having relatable protagonists who makes dreadful decisions, the dialogue and costumes are very realistic to the characters age and how a real teenage friend group would act.

This piece of unedited footage from scene 2 has met generic conventions from the horror genre, this is because of its dark lighting and other techniques we used. The dark lighting helps to conceal most of the background and when the creature appears in focus for a short time. Because it's shot in a 1 take it keeps the audience captivated and increases suspense as it puts the audience in the characters perspective and eliminates cuts which pulls the viewer out of the film.

Another generic convention that applies to this clip is the feeling of vulnerability, the audience feels alone as they look around the room through the eyes of the character, occasionally seeing the creature hidden in darkness and corners of the frame, it creates a sense of vulnerability as the viewer can't do anything about it. A fear of the unknown is also a generic horror convention as people tend to fear what they don't understand or know, and due to our clip having random flashes of the creature and checking dark rooms it creates a sense of uneasiness as the viewer doesn't know where the creature Is or if it will attack.

This clip from scene 3 has met some generic horror conventions through the use of natural chiaroscuro lighting. because the creature is partly lit hides a percentage of its body keeping mystery and hiding the obvious costume look.

Props are very important in generic horror conventions, we used the fake detached arm to show the horror genre and to tell the audience what happened to the dead characters. the creatures movements abide by generic horror conventions as its very animalistic and unnatural.
