LO3 Point 3 editing audio
In this screen shot I am lowering the volume of the music to a specific point so that you can still hear it but in the background the the monster spots the victims spying on them, there is a short sharp eerie sound which I increased the volume on to make in into a jump scare and this helped a lot with the horror aspect of things because it catches the audience of guard and makes the whole scene tense as the other sound effects cut off. Short sharp sounds are very important when it comes to horror films because it's all about scaring the audience. The reason why music an sound I also very important in these type of horror films is because it add an extra layer on tension to the audience whilst they are watching it and keeping them on their toes mot of the time. The audio also reflect what's happening in the scene if there's something tense or calm
In this first scree shot at 3:57 you can see that I have added music to the scene. But it starts of as a very cam scene with no music in and slowly fades into an intense sound as the monster looks up at the teenagers. As the sound comes out of no where it sounds odd for it too start of straight away so to save the problem I added an effect called exponential fade which makes there sound slowly increase in volume as the scene goes along
