LO4.2 Feedback
When our film was ready to be watched, we presented it in a screen test along with a survey we created by using surveymonkey.co.uk. The purpose of making this survey was so that we could see what people thought of our film, each question asked people to think about different parts of the film for example the acting, cinematography etc. This allowed us to further improve our films in the future and see where we went wrong.
Q1 everyone enjoyed the film
Q2 For our film the feedback that we got were mostly positive, some people said they'd change some of the dialogue, add gore and experiment more with he costumes and set locations. One of the main complaints was that the lighting was too dark and you couldn't see as much. A majority of the dialogue was loosely scripted, as I allowed all the actors to improvise some lines as a way to make the dialogue feel as natural as possible. With the costumes and setting I wanted to keep it very basic and realistic and something in our budget, I didn't want everything to be so over the top that it wasn't believable that it was an ordinary teenage group in a normal house and this also gave it a more natural feel.
Q3 one of the main complaints of the film was the acting, which is was completely understandable, for this film I had to convince my friends to be in the film, next time I would get real actors.
Q4 a lot of people said the film was easy enough to understand and had a good narrative, one person said they wanted some more exploration about the creatures character which is a fair criticism and is definitely something I wanted if we had the run time availability.
Q5 most people enjoyed the mise en scene and mentioned how the lighting worked well
Q6 the comments on audio were good specifically talking about the poster eating scene
Q7 editing was well received and people talked about the good continuity
Q8 the genre was horror comedy ands most people got it right or just said horror
Q9 people called the comedy relatable and natural
Q10 the cinematography was really well received and most people said it was really good
Once all the people viewed our film it was a relief and was overall a positive outcome and we found out
the main strengths of our film which was the cinematography , the script, and the little bits of comedy, even though there was defiantly areas where we could improve such as planning out the set equipment and which would allow us to make production more smoother. Also spending more times on our story boards would of helped swell as it would allow us to have a wider variety of shots and angles. Another thing we could of done is allow our actors to make some early test footage and acting as this would make them more confidant to film and have some sort of idea on that to expect because when we first started it took us a couple of hours to get used to the lines and practice them. Lighting was another major complaint when people watched our film because most of the scenes were shot in the dark and when they watched the film they watched it with the lights on so you couldn't see what was happening so next time they need to turn of the lights.
